Fees and Terms of Use for PML We are now accepting requests for reverse genetic screens for mutants with Mu insertions in genes of known sequence. Currently U.S. and foreign academic researchers may use this service free of charge. As load increases we may implement a modest fee. Commercial users should contact us. We will provide 30 kernels from each identified ear or from progeny of the identified ear. Related stocks will also be provided to the Maize Genetics Cooperation (COOP) for propagation and distribution. Users will be responsible for: Confirming the genotype of this material at the targeted locus by genomic Southern and/or PCR analysis. Determining the DNA sequence surrounding the insertion site. Communicating the results of these analyses via the project web site within one year of receiving seed. Notifying the project should publications or patents arise from study of the mutants provided, and acknowledging the contribution of this grant. Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in the withdrawal of the privilege of using the resource. Prior to receiving seed, users will be asked to sign a Materials Transfer Agreement that states that they agree to the above conditions. Screen requests will remain confidential for a period of one year after hits are identified.
